We have a walker!

Skylar can now walk! He started taking steps on January 7th, (the day before he turned 1) at his birthday party. Only about 3-4 at a time. That gradually increased through the past month, mostly when we provoked it, 5 steps...then 6-7....the 7-8....

....and then when I was in the kitchen doing disheson February 7th (exactly a month after he started taking steps and the day before he turned 13 months), I looked over and he was full on walking from the kitchen to the table!!! I was shocked!!

He started walking from here to there all day long, getting up from sitting down and cruising away!

I can't believe it. I have a toddler....

Here's our little man in action the day he started walking...

Snow Day!

Since yesterday, it has been snowing non-stop! I measured about 6 inches on a little table that is outside and that is what hasn't blown off! It's been windy too, so there is snow everywhere!

So what else is there to do besides go play in it!? Skylar LOVED playing in the snow!

....and thanks to Uncle John for the snow suit and Nana for the gloves!

MOPS

Two weeks ago we went to our first Sunday service at the church we decided to start going to. It's a baptist church, exactly what we were looking for, and it's about 2 miles down the road. Perfect! And a plus is that they have a MOPS group which is what I wanted to get into. MOPS is Mothers of Pre Schoolers. It's for moms with children up to kindergarten. They meet twice a month for 2 hours each, theyp provide daycare for your child and you meet with all the other moms, have breakfast, listen to speakers, do crafts and have discussion time, all at the church!

I went to my first MOPS yesterday. I LOVE it!! I was a little worried about leaving Skylar because he hasn't been sleeping good this week and got up at 5:30 that morning. I would be leaving him for 2 hours and right during nap time! AND the only other time I ever left him with someone he didn't know was the first time at church and he did ok. He cried when I dropped him off but other than that, they said he did great! They would have come and got me if it was too bad, and I honestly was waiting for someone to come get me the whole time. But they said he played great, ate a snack and actually took a nap!! WOW! I was so impressed with him and so happy to know that I can leave him and enjoy MOPS!

My first day just happened to be Craft Day! YAY! I love crafts! We made necklaces with our child's name on them and added some charms! You took a washer, hammered letters into it to spell the name, colored over it with a marker, then wiped it off with a baby wipe and the letters kept the color. Then put it on a chain and add a charm or two! Now, the letters were a little difficult. And my OCD didn't handle it well. I would have re-done it if I wouldn't have looked like a nut job! :) Fun with a bunch of other moms! I will definitely be going back in 2 weeks for the next meeting.

Here is my necklace!

Skylar's 1st Birthday!

Our little boy is 1 already! :( I can't believe it! This year has gone by so fast. It has been such an incredible thing to watch him grow and learn every day.

We had Skylar's 1st birthday party while we were in Arizona on January 7th. Mickey Mouse was the theme, of course! I made ALL the decorations (with help from my mom), as well as the pretty cool cake and cake pops! Adam made all the food. It was an awesome party and we had a great time! Thanks to everyone who came!!
Enjoy some pictures of Sky turning ONE!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKYLAR! MOMMY AND DADDY LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Skylar's 1st Christmas!

We were lucky enough to be able to go to Arizona for Christmas. We were actually there for 17 days! Skylar had a Christmas that lasted for about a week! We started opening presents with Mamo and Papo on Christmas Eve like we always do. Skylar opened his first because I knew he would start getting cranky and tired before the night was over. And he did. So he didn't finish all of his gifts! He continued to open gifts Christmas morning while Adam and I opened our gifts to each other. He still had so many that he didn't finish (again) before we had to leave for Tami's to have Christmas with Nana, Papa, Tami, Cory, Emily and Austin. After there, we headed to Ashley's to hang out with them and do our little kiddo gift exchange. For that entire week, Skylar opened a few presents every day because he would lose interest in opening presents before he was done! Needless to say, this kid isn't short on any toys! :) He sure is LOVED!

His favorite gift is his wagon from Mamo and Papo!
