Two weeks ago we went to our first Sunday service at the church we decided to start going to. It's a baptist church, exactly what we were looking for, and it's about 2 miles down the road. Perfect! And a plus is that they have a MOPS group which is what I wanted to get into. MOPS is Mothers of Pre Schoolers. It's for moms with children up to kindergarten. They meet twice a month for 2 hours each, theyp provide daycare for your child and you meet with all the other moms, have breakfast, listen to speakers, do crafts and have discussion time, all at the church!
I went to my first MOPS yesterday. I LOVE it!! I was a little worried about leaving Skylar because he hasn't been sleeping good this week and got up at 5:30 that morning. I would be leaving him for 2 hours and right during nap time! AND the only other time I ever left him with someone he didn't know was the first time at church and he did ok. He cried when I dropped him off but other than that, they said he did great! They would have come and got me if it was too bad, and I honestly was waiting for someone to come get me the whole time. But they said he played great, ate a snack and actually took a nap!! WOW! I was so impressed with him and so happy to know that I can leave him and enjoy MOPS!
My first day just happened to be Craft Day! YAY! I love crafts! We made necklaces with our child's name on them and added some charms! You took a washer, hammered letters into it to spell the name, colored over it with a marker, then wiped it off with a baby wipe and the letters kept the color. Then put it on a chain and add a charm or two! Now, the letters were a little difficult. And my OCD didn't handle it well. I would have re-done it if I wouldn't have looked like a nut job! :) Fun with a bunch of other moms! I will definitely be going back in 2 weeks for the next meeting.
Here is my necklace!

Skylar's 1st Birthday!
Our little boy is 1 already! :( I can't believe it! This year has gone by so fast. It has been such an incredible thing to watch him grow and learn every day.
We had Skylar's 1st birthday party while we were in Arizona on January 7th. Mickey Mouse was the theme, of course! I made ALL the decorations (with help from my mom), as well as the pretty cool cake and cake pops! Adam made all the food. It was an awesome party and we had a great time! Thanks to everyone who came!!
Enjoy some pictures of Sky turning ONE!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKYLAR! MOMMY AND DADDY LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Skylar's 1st Christmas!
We were lucky enough to be able to go to Arizona for Christmas. We were actually there for 17 days! Skylar had a Christmas that lasted for about a week! We started opening presents with Mamo and Papo on Christmas Eve like we always do. Skylar opened his first because I knew he would start getting cranky and tired before the night was over. And he did. So he didn't finish all of his gifts! He continued to open gifts Christmas morning while Adam and I opened our gifts to each other. He still had so many that he didn't finish (again) before we had to leave for Tami's to have Christmas with Nana, Papa, Tami, Cory, Emily and Austin. After there, we headed to Ashley's to hang out with them and do our little kiddo gift exchange. For that entire week, Skylar opened a few presents every day because he would lose interest in opening presents before he was done! Needless to say, this kid isn't short on any toys! :) He sure is LOVED!
Some pictures of Christmas Eve:
His favorite gift is his wagon from Mamo and Papo!

I lied. Sorry!
Ok, so I know last September-ish I said I was going to be back to blogging. And I really meant it! That was until our life went crazy again. Since then we:
-Found out we had to move...again! Luckily, in town, but the pain of moving is enough! We were only in that house 10 months and the owners were coming back. So out we had to be, in a VERY short amount of time. Our house we are in now is just a little over a mile down the road, so it's nice to be in the same area.
-Went to Orlando for Adam's dad's doctorate graduation. YAY Herb!
-Packed a whole house and moved! What a pain! Thanks to my mom for helping!
-Unpacked and organized my whole house....again!
-Went home to Phx for a funeral. Yuck, those things always stink.
-Adam's daughter Emily was dignosed with Leukemia. So we went to visit her in Indiana in the hospital for her first dose of chemotherapy over Veteran's Day.
-Went to Phx for Thanksgiving and then Christmas and Skylar's 1st bithday party!
I'm sure there are things I missed in there, but it was a crazy 3 months!!
I will update this ASAP with the most important things recently...Skylar's 1st Christmas and his 1st birthday!

Skylar's first french fry
Today Sky got his first taste of a french fry. He really liked it, after some strange faces and figuring out what to do with it!
Day-O-Fun: Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
Today we went to the zoo! Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's only mountain zoo. It's literally on the side of the mountain, so it's really neat. I got to meet up with some old friends from high school too, Brynn and Ashley. Brynn has 4 kids, her youngest 1 month younger than Skylar. So it was a day full of fun and kids!
The girls:
Brynn, Ashley and Rhianna
Skylar got to feed giraffes today!
He didn't know what to think about the giraffes, especially their crazy tongues!
Halfway through the zoo, he was pooped!
We saw all sorts of animals; giraffes, billions of kinds of monkeys, lions, tigers, cheetahs, gorillas, birds, elephants, hogs, turtles, etc... The pics of all the animals will be in my Picasa album.
It was a great day with 70 degree weather!!
Chillin'! He always puts his feet up like this!
Yay for a fun day with friends and family!!

...and we're back!!
So, I have been absent on my blog for a little over 8 months now. A few life changing moments have happened which is probably why the blog was left behind...
-Moved to Colorado. Drove across the country 36 weeks pregnant, with 3 dogs in the dead of winter.
-Had to unpack our house in Colorado, 37 weeks pregnant. Thank goodness my mom came to help!!
-9 days (literally) after we got to Colorado, I gave birth!! (That whole story will come later)
-Had a newborn and was a new mom. A lot of new adjustments!!! :)
-Adam went back to work at a new post. New schedule, new people. Exciting for him because it's so much better than Bragg!!
-Lost a dog to a tragic accident (don't want to talk much about it, sad), adopted a new one! :)
-Went on a few vacations here and there (I'm sure those will be posted later too)
And now to the latest news....
WE HAVE TO MOVE AGAIN!!! AAAHHHHHHH!!!!!
Luckily, not to a different state, just houses. But still. The most pain in the butt thing in the world, and I have to do it again, 9 months after I did it across country!
Our lease for this house we are in now was up in October. They didn't do a year lease because they said people don't want to move in December because it's so cold here, so they didn't want the chance of us moving out then and not being able to rent out the house. So it was through October. So a few days ago, like Monday or Tuesday, they called Adam to see if we wanted to renew our lease. Of course we did!! We have a great house that is just the right size, has all we needed, and Lord help me I wasn't going to pack and move again. They said, "Great, we will send the lease in the mail. Sign it and send it back and you're all set." So we have been waiting for the lease. Today (Friday) Adam got a call. The owners of the house are moving back and we have to find a new place to live!! I am so mad, frustrated, upset, worried, irritated....I could go on.....
So now, I am stuck having to pack this huge house once again, with a very mobile 8-9 month old, find a house to move to that allows 3 dogs and has air conditioning (which is VERY rare in Colorado) and that is big enough for us (we have a lot of stuff.) Pay security deposits, pet deposits, mover fees, truck rental fees, ect...NOT WHAT I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO!!!
So, welcome to the new life of the Montgmerys! If you know how hard it was to find the house we are in now, you will know how NOT thrilled I am.
So I hope to be back to dedicated to blogging. I was doing so well during my pregnancy and then life went crazy. But here's to more blogging!!! :)
ENJOY!
